Real cool treat to beat the heat

Food 52 has so far published 5 books and each book is packed with wonderful and useful recipe for all food enthusiast be it novice or experienced. I own a lot of cookbook of which only 3 are on Ice creams as not many stand out to me. The recent book “Food 52 Ice Creams and Friends: 60 Recipes and Riffs for Sorbets, Sandwiches, No-Churn Ice Creams, and More” is a wonderful book for everyone definitely a must have for many ice cream lovers. The book is very well laid out and indexed. There is a recipe in there for every one with so many different sections like one just for chocolate and vanilla, fruits, drink riffs, nut based ice creams, and also unique like herbs and spices and savory. I can’t wait to try out the carrot cake ice cream, apple and sage ice cream, also summer corn with rosemary shortbread and blueberry crust and blueberry compote and black pepper feta ice cream. Dumpling 101 This is a wonderful book on easy to follow instructions on how to make dumplings. The author calls the dumpling a perfect food and goes on to explain that it is proteins, vegetables all wrapped up in a carbohydrate rich cover. What ever name you want to give it (Modak, Samosa,Sambusa, Pierogis, Spaetzle,Potstickers, Momos, Gnudi, Empanadas, Gyoza, Ravioli) be it Sweet or Savory or even boiled, fried or may be steamed, ever country has a version of a dumpling. It is comfort food. The author has been making and enjoying dumpling from the time she was young. The author’s love for this comforting food is evident. It is this passion and love that has led her start her restaurant in New York where she delivers this perfect package of goodness. The book answers any and every possible question on how to start making a dumpling. It has clear and beautiful illustrations   on how to form a dumpling and fill and cook the dumplings. Makes Eating Vegetables More Fun As people grow older they realize the importance of eating vegetables. Well I am certainly one of them. This book gives us so many ideas on how vegetables can be prepared and enjoyed. It in many ways brings out the kid in me but putting a whimsical spin to eating more vegetables. It is a wonderful follow up to the first book by the author  Ali Maffucci. She has categorized the book by the different vegetables. It is such a pleasure reading it. Upon reading I have come up with many variations to inspiralize vegetable with. This book is an absolute necessity for me; it helps making vegetable fun and delicious for the picky or not so picky child in us.  The book was provided to me by “blogging for books” in exchange for my above honest opinion.
