Vegan Southern Food…Mind Blowing

I have always loved sweet potato. This book has got vegan southern style recipe with the star sweet potato along with other fresh produce. Do not be alarmed that every thing is sweet potato. It has a lot of recipes using other fresh produce. The author Jenne Claiborne runs a very successful You Tube channel with the same name.   I cannot wait to try out Vegan cream cheese pound cake, Skillet corn bread, Jackfruit Jambalaya, Lentil Loaf, sweet potato yeast doughnuts. The first one I am going to try out is smoky black-eyed pea cakes, I always have trouble coming up with recipes made with black eyed peas. Last Stop In Brooklyn – Review

I have an interest in period mystery novels and this one by Lawrence H Levy.   The author does not disappoint the readers. This is the third book in the A Mary Handley Mystery series. This is my first book in this series. It is a well-researched book, which transports us to the time period. I have a read many mysteries and this one was very interesting. Trying to write a review without giving away much is hard. The story has detective Mary Handley solving the case similar to Jack the ripper case a reason to interest many. The books can be purchased from Amazon . I recommend this book to mystery lovers just for the sheer joy of intrigue. Serene!

Among all the hustle, bustle and turmoil in life this book will transport us to a serene atmosphere. For lack of better term to describe this cookbook I am going to say it is a very warm book.   Both the pictures and recipes are rustic and soul satisfying. The author Marte Marie Forberg, was born and raised on an island off the coast of Norway. After her education she traveled the world as a photographer. On one such travels she fell in love with the English countryside. She now resides in her cottage in the English countryside two hours from London with her English pointer Mr.Whiskey. Her resourceful mom has nurtured her love for cooking and gardening. She runs a popular blog in the name the cottage kitchen.   The book has been divided into four seasons and afternoon tea and recipes to try out in each season. Excellent treat by Women Chef!

This book is a compilation of lots of wonderful recipes from famous women chefs. The pink color of the book is oddly attractive and inviting. It is wonderful to read snippets of stories and incidents from people’s life and when there is a special recipe that accompanies it is even more special. I am eager to try out the Nonna Garzia’s Pasta E Piselli, Broken Pie Crust cobbler with berries and persimmon loaf cake. You can buy this book from Amazon .  I highly recommend this awesome compilation of recipes put together by authors Kerry Diamond and Claudia Wu.
